Craig & Hirsch, P.C. has provided knowledgeable and aggressive legal representation to the Northern Virginia community since 1989. We practice extensively in divorce and family law throughout Northern Virginia, especially Fairfax, Loudoun, Arlington and Prince William Counties. MARY ELLEN CRAIG, Esquire
Mary Ellen has practiced law in Northern Virginia since 1980, limiting her practice to family law since 1989. She represents clients in all areas of family law, including complex interstate child custody disputes, prenuptial agreements, equitable distribution and support cases. She has also successfully practiced in the Virginia Court of Appeals. Also trained as a mediator, Mary Ellen practices divorce mediation with Divorce Mediation Services. She is a Commissioner in Chancery for Fairfax County, and has served as a Neutral Case Evaluator and a Motions Day Conciliator. She has also lectured at continuing legal education seminars. She received her law degree from The American University, Washington College of Law, a master's degree from Columbia University and a bachelor's degree from Purdue University. Early in her career, she clerked for the Honorable Judge Nebeker at the D.C. Court of Appeals.

BRIAN M. HIRSCH, Esquire  Email 
Brian has been a divorce attorney in Northern Virginia since 1985. He has extensive in-court experience in child custody, visitation, child support, spousal support and property division cases. He also serves as a guardian ad litem, representing children in custody, abuse and neglect cases. He was appointed a Commissioner in Chancery for Fairfax County Circuit Court in 2003. He also serves as a Neutral Case Evaluator for Fairfax County Circuit Court, evaluating and mediating divorce cases. Brian has lectured on rehabilitative alimony (May 2000), division of stock options in divorce (May 2001) and trying cases involving relocation of the custodial parent (April 2002) for the Fairfax Bar Association Advanced Family Law Seminar. He lectured in June 2003 at an equitable distribution workshop put on by a private company. Currently, Brian serves as a member of the Board of Governors of the Family Law Section of the Virginia State Bar (2002-2006 term). He is an alternate member for the Fairfax Bar Association Judicial Screening Task Force. He graduated from The American University, Washington College of Law in 1985 and The Pennsylvania State University (magna cum laude) in 1982. He is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa national honor society.

CAROL L. EHLENBERGER, Esquire  Email 
Carol joined the firm in 1997 and also concentrates in family law. She is an active member in the Family Law section of the Fairfax Bar Association. She taught trial practice at Shenandoah University. She graduated from The American University, Washington College of Law (magna cum laude) in 1994 and from Lehigh University (cum laude) in 1991.  

PAULA A. NIEDERMAN, Esquire  Email
Paula joined the firm in 2003.  She is a member of the Family Law section of the Fairfax Bar Association.  Paula graduated from The George Washington University Law School in 2003 and from Tufts University (magna cum laude) in 1999.
