mediation saves time and money over litigation
William
H. Donahue, Jr., Esq., APM, founded Transitions
Mediation Center in 1995 to address the growing need
for mediation as an alternative to expensive, time-consuming and
emotionally draining litigation. Through Transitions, he mediates
a wide range of family disputes including divorce. He specializes
in the mediation of high conflict cases and cases involving children.
In high conflict cases, he uses a collaborative mediation approach,
in which a team of professionals including a mediator, two attorneys
and a therapist work with the family.
As
an employment practices mediator, he mediates workplace disputes,
and, through Transitions, offers a workplace-training seminar
that teaches companies how to set up and maintain their own in-house
dispute resolution programs.
Admitted
to practice law in 1984, William Donahue is a practicing divorce
and family lawyer. He has maintained a private litigation practice
in Westmont, New Jersey, for the last 14 years. His practice includes
divorce, domestic violence, adoption, and post-divorce cases,
as well as personal injury, criminal matters, real estate, professional
malpractice, and wills and trusts.
William H. Donahue, Jr. is a nationally recognized speaker on
divorce mediation and on work place mediation and dispute resolution
focusing on discrimination, sexual harassment and Americans With
Disabilities Act issues.
His
book, "Reconcilable
Differences: A Consumer's Guide to Divorce Mediation,"
explains the basic principles underlying mediation, and shows
how couples with whom he has worked were able to use those principles
in mediation to resolve their own divorces. To learn more or to
