Particulars:
Corinne Corley, owner and attorney at the Corley Law Firm, started life as a published essayist, newspaper correspondent and poet. Daughter of a labor organizer, granddaughter of a lawyer, and niece of a lawyer, it was natural that she should turn to law as a way of finding some positive role to serve. Her earliest work in the field was just that, saving family farmers from ruination from unscrupulous lending practice in the mid to late 1980s.

From that point, it was natural to return to active representation of the average person in the community, so Corinne turned to family law as the mainstay of her practice. The two seemingly diametrically opposed categories of men's rights and advocacy for abused family members provide a catalyst for community involvement. As a disabled person, Corinne also maintains the importance of accountability under federal legislation such as the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act). Her work in that field has increased since she became married to a man more stubborn than she is, who rides through life in an electric wheelchair and whom she met online, actually having "picked him up" in a Yahoo chatroom, marrying him less than a year later after he condescended to relocate from the accessible town of Charlotte NC to the less-innovative land of countless cutless curbs, Kansas City, Missouri. Shortly after his arrival, Corinne began a successful crusade to increase designated parking in the Country Club Plaza, a largely privately owned shopping area in Kansas City.

The mother of one and champion of many, Corinne claims fame even in the private school realm, where she once parlayed the closing of a lounge to all students in her child's private school as punishment for the transgressions of a few known miscreants into a lesson on the First Amendment. Her son was only slightly embarrassed.

Corinne works as a solo practitioner because she believes there are too many unscrupulous lawyers in the world. She has one legal assistant and a secretary, both of whom care as much about her clients as she does. The firm will evaluate cases for a minimum fee, the first hour of attorney time is free, and hourly rates for attorney and paralegal services are scaled according to income.
