Divorce
Mediation
Mediation
is the way to work out a fair, legally enforceable settlement,
while keeping your divorce from becoming
a bitter, endless, expensive
war. A neutral mediator trained to work out disagreements and
reduce conflicts, helps you and your spouse to work out a divorce
settlement
covering assets and liabilities division, spousal support as
well as child support and parenting issues. Contrary to what
many people
believe, mediation is not just for "friendly" divorces.
Most divorcing couples experience extreme emotional distress:
a trained mediator helps them focus on their common goals of
protecting
their
children and avoiding emotionally and financially draining legal
battles.
Monika D. Cornell, Esq., is a an attorney mediator who works with
couples to reach mediated agreement on the full range of divorce
issues including parenting and child support, spousal support as
well as property and liability division. Ms. Cornell guides couples
through all aspects of the process, including legal issues and drafting
of the final settlement agreement. Ms. Cornell is a member of Connecticut
Bar Association, The Connecticut Counsel For Divorce Mediation and
the Association For Conflict Resolution. She is a graduate of University
of Michigan (Phi Beta Kappa) and of Boston University School of Law
where she majored, with honors, in Mediation and Dispute Resolution.
She meets the clients in her Madison office (for directions, see
here) but appointments elsewhere can be arranged.
