Welcome THERE IS NOTHING EASY ABOUT DIVORCE... But through the cooperative process of mediation, a neutral professional can help you and your spouse reach a settlement of all issues at lower cost, in less time, with less conflict. I have over 15 years of experience as a divorce lawyer. Because I believe that mediation is a better way to help people resolve their disputes, I now devote my practice solely to the mediation of divorce and family matters. I received my mediation training at The Institute for Dispute Resolution in Montclair, NJ, consisting of an extensive basic Divorce Mediation course, a 16-week Divorce Mediation Internship Program, an advanced Divorce Mediation Course, and a Civil Mediation course. My instructors were Sam Margulies, PhD, Esq. author of Getting Divorced Without Ruining Your Life, and one of the foremost divorce mediators in the country, and Tina Rubenstein, Esq., CSW, an attorney and certified clinical social worker with extensive mediation and psychotherapy experience. In addition to the above, I am an Advanced Practitioner Member of The Association for Conflict Resolution. I offer a free consultation during which I will give you and your spouse a detailed explanation of how mediation works, and how it is different from the traditional adversarial way of getting a divorce. If you do not find an answer to your questions about mediation on my Frequently Asked Questions page, feel free to give me a call. What clients say: “I can’t thank you enough for facilitating (our) divorce. What I anticipated would be an anger-filled, frightening experience has been rational, reasonable and mediated with the utmost care and respect for both parties. The joint custody plan is particularly satisfying to me as I feel it is so important for the children to continue to have both of us share equally in their future and support them with our time and love. I have heard so many litigation horror stories from others since we began this process and will continue to recommend mediation as a much more loving, humane way to part ways. Your help has been invaluable as we hit each snag and negotiated a way around it. I wish you continued success in a business that is sure to help heal many lives.” -- Janet |
