I have a question: I have a friend that has a court order that they arent allowed to take the children out of pa with out permission from the other due to the adbandomnent of the children and the mother ran off to another state, shes back after dad has has several years of custody and mom ran off well now she is asking to take the girls to another state but we find out she then has plans on going to Mexico from Kentucky! do they have to have a passport or anything to go there or what? These children are all under the age of 12! The mom doesn't know we know of her true and real plans and we have lots of proof. what do you suggest?

You are posting on a New Mexico Board which is a state, Arizona on the left and Texas on the right. We are part of the United States. Mexico is another country and no you do not need a passport to travel there over the border. Not unless things have changed in the wake of 9/11. When we went on a cruise to Mexico a couple of years ago all we had to have were the kids birth certificates but htat was different. We were actually dealing with being in open waters and customs. No passport though. Just had to prove they belonged to us. Not sure about just walking or drivng over the border today though.
