Identigene DNA Testing

Hi, I’m Kate and I am a 26 year old Customer Support Rep in Salt Lake City, Utah. I work for Identigene (www.dnatesting.com) and help customers with a wide range of questions about DNA and Paternity testing. I often feel like I am part Client Support, part Therapist and part High School Biology Teacher.

One of the most rewarding parts of my job has been to work with people who contact me about DNA testing. Beyond answering questions, they often just need a shoulder to cry on or just someone to hear their story. I'm looking forward to sharing what I know about DNA Paternity Testing, as well as hearing your paternity testing story.

I slept with my ex once at a party in january 2008, she then decided told me that I was the father of the child. Since we have been seperated a while, I was not sure if she had any other partners, I decided I was a possiblity but wanted paternity testing which angered her. Finally a whole year later, she files back in august 2009. We take the test september 2, and supposedly results send out oct.10 - neither of us have received the test but she got a letter stating both of us have a court hearing dec.2cnd. How or Why? did she file for support before the establishing paternity ( she did not want to take the paternity test, I had to intervene)...IF my results are negative does a judge dismiss them? Can I call the court and postpone till I have the results??

In California, I filed for Child Support Services - he denied paternity (after paying privately for a year, and knowing full well the child was his). They didn't hear our case until the paternity results came in (but it was scheduled) - the child support was retroactive to the date of filing.

If the tests had been negative, my understanding is there would have been a formal hearing to indicate he was not the father.

Did you two get back together for a while? Do you believe the child to be yours?

You slept with your ex at a party?

The paperwork you recieved should tell you why you have a court date.

If your test results are due by October 10th, I'm sure you will have them by December.

I'm not sure about the legal part of it, what happens once you get your results. I'd talk to an attorney as I'm sure they deal with that situation all the time.

call the courts prosecutors office to see if they have the results cuz they can't do child support if you request a paternity till you get back the test results... but call to see if they have them cuz you can view the file. If they set a date then they might have them back and you are the father... Hazel_Eyes
