Hi,

Can someone point me in the direction of a website, so I can look up that Family Law section, pertaining the Extraordinary purchases and additional debt during litigation??

Thank you

I'm going to hazard a guess here, but Family Codes section 2620-2628 might be a good place to start. That section speaks on debts incurred during the marriage.

I'm not sure if the phrase you're looking for is "excessive spending" or not..

Thank you Tali for the response,

It's in the vicinity of what I'm looking for. Where can I read up the verbage for the above mentioned code?

My STBX is taking on loans to buy a house, My atty advised me that he cannot make extraordinary purchases without my consent or court order, and he certainly cannot take on additional debt if me or my assets could be jeopardized.

So I want to read up on it to be informed of the real legal verbage.

Oh Oh Oh! That is what you want! Phew. Thank you - please reach for your documents. Inside the front of your documents, should be a petition and a summons. Flip over the summons. On the back, you'll see orders preventing both spouses from selling stock, changing insurance policies or making major purchases without the judge's or the other party's permission.

Yeah, its right on the back of your summons in California.
