Hi, does anyone know what happens once the family court - WI- makes a recommendation?

My husband for varuious neglect reasons went for increased custody and the family court councilers report says that he should get the additional time and that this is in the best interest of the children.

What happens next?

Does this mean he will get the recommended additional placement? or is there a trial, etc

He would have to ask for a hearing. Everyone would be notified and required to show up in court at a scheduled time and date. At that time, the judge could then sign a new temporary order to change the placement terms. With a significant change in placement terms, the judge may also change the child support amount.

You (or your attorney) will have the opportunity to speak but since the official report says he should get more time, that's probably what will happen.
