Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good Fathers Rights Attorney in the Las Vegas area? My ex has remarried and moved to Florida, I am living in Nebraska. Our Divorce was 5 years ago in Nevada.
Thank You,
Mike

You already divorced 5 years ago. Why do you need a "father rights" attorney now? I guess you want to modify the order. It's a misconception to believe that a good attorney is the attorney who fights exclusively for one sex. If anything else, it will sure backfire. The obvious reason is because a neutral attorney will appear more reasonable in the front of judges and have fairer view about issues. As a result, he/she will more likely to get fair results for you.
Yes, in some extreme bias/error cases, you really need a new attorney to fight hard in order to fix it, but I wouldn't call such attorney "father rights" attorney. I would call them competent attorney and that's what you should look for rather than relying on fairy tale. Good luck.

DVD. Either you know a father's rights attorney in Nevada or you don't. He asked a simple question and "father's rights" implies exactly what type of attorney he is seeking. Meanwhile, there are thousands of father's rights attorneys out there along with a multitude of other specializing attorneys.

Your comments are well taken. We just finished round 2 and again I had to agree to amounts far in excess of those I can pay. With settlement, alimony, child support and wage garnishment I have paid 200% of what I actually earned in those past 5 years. In the meantime, my ex ignores everything in the decree except the money part. Moved the kids out of state. We filed a motion for contempt and to address CS, Alimony arrears, etc... While we were attempting to negotiate this, she again had my wages garnished. After 3 months and ready to put in front of the judge, they asked for an evidentuary/discovery hearing which would have prolonged things another 6 months. So I had to take what they offered to end things. They are dragging their feet to stop the garnishment and she again will continue to ignore the decree especially the visitation parts. Oh also I am into the lawyer for another $10,000.00 and my wages are still being garnished.
So I am looking for legal help with someone who thinks this is crazy, who not only does the right legal things but is passionate for my cause.
Yes I would think all lawyers do this but I have found not all with the same conviction and passion!

This all started when my ex filed a false affidavit with incorrect amounts due and what I actually paid. The DA's office has been taking monies from me far in excess of what I was required to pay. Garnishment, Federal income taxes and canceling my passport. Yet they do nothing to force my ex to allow agreed visitation, medical information, school reports, etc..

Seems the whole system is against the hard working father. So call them a competent attorney or whatever. I need someone fighting for me!

Thanks..

While I certainly understand this, if things are really so out of whack, you have to fight, or you'll never get anywhere.
