If I file divorce myself (i.e., using a paralegal, etc.) will I still be able to request/receive spousal support as part of my filing? Or is that something I would need an attorney to request?

In a strict legal sense, there is nothing for which an attorney is required. You can file anything and everything yourself. The risks you run are not putting in the right language, not filing the right document, missing deadlines, et cetera.
