Is there a way in South Carolina to file a contempt of court for a father not doing what was stated by the courts in the divorce agreemant? I am without an attorney currently and would like to see about filing it myself.
Also, can a family member be a supervisor if supervised visitation is required? How does a person get the court to appoint a family member and allow a family member to supervise visitation?

Thank you

Yes, you should be able to file pro se. Some states have uniform forms available at no cost to download from their sites.

Your best bet if this is not available to you, is to call or visit the family court, explain the type you want to file. They in turn will direct you on the filing procedures, supply the forms, and tell you of any filing fees you might need to pay. Be sure they also give you the instructions on serving the respondent plus the affidavit of service forms, also.

And yes, family members can be used to supervise visitation.

Do you by chance know how to go about getting a family member approved by the courts for supervisor? I called the family courts and they said to ask an attorney!

Thank you

I'm still in the middle of a divorce and my ex. hasn't complyed with anything the court has said for him to do. He hasn't meet with the gal, skipped mediation ,didn't take the drug test the court ordered, And isn't paying for anything for our 15 yr daughter. and still waiting on a court date to finialize this it was a year in Oct. that weve been seperated The layer an gal said if we get him for contemp then he go's to jail and can't pay anything. Whats any diff he's not paying anything now S.C. divorce laws are screwed up if you ask me. The gal said she's gonna request he has supervised visits.I don't know if thats gonna happen the way thing have went so far.

Smile. As frustrating as it is, he's virtually assuring that you have a great majority of time and control regarding your daughter. If he's as irresponsible as you portray him, then he shouldn't have much, if any, control.
