I really don't understand this state. My brother was given custody of his two kids by CPS on June 11. They, without my brother requesting so, immediately dropped his child support. Now, over a month later, he got notice that he has to go to court on July 19th for the motion to drop child support to be heard. What's the point? CPS already had the child support dropped. The motion to drop was made by the county attorneys office. Is this just another step that they have to take to make it official?????

I don't know for sure. I would suggest that your brother contact the county attorney's office to ask why he's being called to court. It might be a formalization, in which case he should go and make sure that he gets the documentation. Never know what she could try to pull in the future. The documentation is important.

It took a judges signature to start it, so it will take the same to stop it. Its just a formality.
