I was just wondering if anyone knows the legal pick-up and drop off times for holidays. My ex is trying to tell me all kinds of different times, and I don't know if she is just making them up or really knows. She is saying 8:00am-6:00pm all holidays except for the 4th of July which she is saying 8:00am on the 4th and dropped off at 9:00am on the 5th. Do anyone know if this is correct? Thanks for your help.

No, that's not correct. There really isn't a standard pickup and drop off time. They generally look at a parents' work and other schedules and try to come up with something reasonable for all. The 8-6 range would be ok if parents want to share the same holiday. Either she wants the entire night out for herself, or... she doesn't want the NCP to have much of the next day.

This should be spelled out in the decree. If it's not, you need to file a motion for modification.

We switch holidays for every other year. So not to confuse.......... I get them all Holidays on even number, Ex gets them on all Holidays odd number! We split Christmas every year. I get them from school break until 8:00a.m. Christmas morning and then EX gets them from 8:00a.m Christmas morning until 8:00p.m. the night before school break ends! On their Birthday EX picks them up at 5:00p.m. and brings them back at 9:00p.m. EX gets them on Fathers Day Every year. I get them on Mothers Day every year. All other Holidays are switched every other year. Sometimes we change schedules due to work or events but we always agree to the change. I agree with Beaver, this should have been addressed in your decree. If not, maybe you should talk with your EX and come up with a suitable schedule that you both agree on. If you can't agree then you need to file a modification. Most mothers automatically assume it's their birthright to have their children on Holidays, not so!
