Quick background...my friend's ex-wife cheated on him (proven by numerous emails detailing said affairs)prior to them both saying the marriage was over (again, proven by numerous email trail). She wanted out of the marriage, he agreed and they split last year. Now, since she wants to continue to "homeschool" (and I use this term very loosely) and not work at a real job, that has benefits, good pay (even though she is degreed---albeit with a psych degree) she wants alimony. Doesn't infidelity make going for alimony fruitless?

I'm not an expert at this, but I think it depends on the state - If it's a no fault state, infidelity has no bearing on alimony -
