Husband of three years (together 5 yrs) has decided to purchase another piece of property. The property we live in now was bought 7 months prior to marriage at $86,000 - now valued at $325,000 because of improvements made during marriage. Now he wants to get a divorce, get a pre-nup and get remarried prior to purchasing this next piece of property because he is afraid that I will leave him later on and take half. I also sold a house after the marriage with profits. I work with him at his company. We have joint bank accounts and credit cards. He says that I will get nothing if I don't do this deal now and he would rather get a divorce now than later. I do not want this divorce, nor do I have any plans of leaving. What are my options and legal rights?

any property that was owned by either party before a marriage is not considered "marital property." "marital property" i sany property or items purchased after the marriage started. so as far as the house that was purchased for $86k, and now valued at $325k, if it is yours, then that is your profit. if it isnt yours, then that is his profit.
