I am a newly single Dad with two young daughters, and would like to meet other single parents for support & friendship. I live on the SE side of Las Vegas, not far from Green Valley. I was hoping to join Parents Without Partners but this group does not exist, at least not yet, in Las Vegas. So please feel free to send me a private message or post something in this thread.

It's been well over a year since the demise of my marriage and during that period of time I have personally met maybe 15 or 20 single parents in all of Las Vegas. I figure at least 25% of the population would fall into that category, but where are they all hiding out? There is no active Parents w/o Partners in Las Vegas, and the singles groups we do have in the Valley leave a lot to be desired. I would like to meet other single parents (male and female) who understand the challenges of single parenting and may be interested in arranging play dates and social outings. Not from LV, but I am in the same boat. New to OKC and haven't felt up to dating alot. Not really ready. I do want friendships which is all I can handle. My children are grown and miss them terribly. I need to get involved in some activities that I used to enjoy again. I still feel in this rut being the divorce is not final yet! Stbx started seeing a woman right after filed...alot younger with 2 young children. I was devasted. I know he must of been seeing her before he filed. It was just too soon and introduced her to my kids he says after 2 dates. Right! I would like for people out of respect for their former spouse to refrain from dating until things have settled somewhat. Divorce is hard enough to get through without another person/family becoming involved. Just my thought. I hope that you have met some great people since this post.

I have found that www.meetup.com is a good resource to meet other single parents. There are at least two "meetup" groups for single moms and dads in Las Vegas alone, and the website is a resource for all areas of the United States. I can vouch for the legitimacy of the site, and there's no charge to use it.
