Can anyone tell me if someone were to move to Nevada from New York, and filed for divorce after meeting the residency requirements, etc., would the Nevada divorce be valid in New York?

Yes. A divorce in one state is always recognized in any other state due to the Full Faith and Credit Clause. However, Nevada laws do not allow someone to simply come to Nevada for 6 weeks to get a divorce and then move back. While I've never heard of anything being done about it, you need to be a Nevada residence which is defined as living in Nevada for 6 weeks with the intent of remaining and it being your home. You will also need someone to sign a paper saying they have seen you reside in Nevada for 6 weeks. So if you do move here you will need to stay visible and have a neighbor or coworker sign this paper.
