Interest in Separate Property

A man and woman purchased a home in contemplation of marriage; because of the man’s poor credit rating, the deed was exclusively in the woman’s name. Shortly thereafter, the couple marry and a year and half later she wants a divorce. The property was always paid for jointly by the parties; the man has steady income and his pay is automatically deposited into a joint checking account – which all expenses are paid through.

Question: although technically the home is in her name – it, as well as improvements, were purchased together and paid for together. Currently there is over 100K in equity in the home. In Nevada (a community property state) would the man have interest in his home? Does Nevada exercise equitable distribution of property in situations like these?

Thanks
SP

You have it right. All that matters is where the funds came from to make payments.
